Description:

In the two-day training, trainers review basic information about contraception and pregnancy for HIV-infected individuals and help providers acquire the skills and confidence to implement the intervention. Much of the training is dedicated to familiarizing providers with the technical content and then applying it in provider-patient role-plays.

The training is divided into five modules:

  • Module 1: Introduction and Overview
  • Module 2: Integrating Family Planning and Safer Pregnancy Counseling into HIV Care and Treatment Settings
  • Module 3: Providing Contraceptive Services
  • Module 4: Counseling Patients Who Are Pregnant or Considering Pregnancy
  • Module 5: Decision Making for Couples
